How to 'select all' on a Mac - selecting multiple or all files/items on Apple Mac OS & some of the bestselling accessories for Mac

Simple MAC keyboard shortcut equivalent to Microsoft Windows Select All function -

Have you recently made the switch from PC to Mac and miss the old stock-standard "select all" function/Windows shortcut? Here is the quickest way to select all icons in a finder window.

There are two options that will work on a Mac keyboard to select all of the files in a Mac OS window...

command + a

-OR-

shift + command + down key

Simple, but totally different when one makes the switch from PC to MAC. A handy one to memorize for those new to Apple Macs.

You might also find that you can't copy & paste the same way as you are used to with Windows/PC - - -

... on a Mac, instead of using the Control/Cntrl key as you might be used to, as with many Mac keystrokes, the Command key is used instead - so how do you copy and paste on a Mac? -

command + c
then command + v

Another key you might notice is not present on a Mac keyboard is a PrintScreen or similar key for taking a screenshot or snapshot of the current screen as it appears...

command + shift + 3

(if you prefer to copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of making/saving a file, hold down the control key with the above keystrokes)
